Financial literate individuals save, invest, spend, plan, and donate. They develop a better well-being and become more resilient to financial challenges.
Sadly, Nearly TWO THIRDS of Americans can’t calculate interest payments correctly. About a third said they didn’t even know how. Our financial illiteracy is a problem.
Financial Education is simply put... not part of the curriculum in our schools and universities. As a society, we fail to teach the basics of financial education.
The FinMango Solution
When it comes to financial education, it's important to start early and in schools. Like reading and math, financial education must become part of the core curriculum in our schools.
FinMango is dedicated to providing the resources, training, and speaking needed to help prepare our teachers and teach our kids.
- Teaching our kids to be financially savvy is a gift – one that will keep on giving throughout their lives (TIME).
JRC LEARNING CENTER (Canton, Ohio)
(November 11th, 18th, 22nd): Our FinMango team brought financial education to the JRC Learning Center. The JRC Learning Center is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization that provides a safe early learning environment where children are supported and cared for while their parents work and/or further their education.
We taught two sections:
- Pre-k - 2nd grade (approximately 10 students)
- 3rd grade - 7th grade (approximately 10 students)
The learning environment was infectious and the kids were phenomenal. During the program, the kids learned the importance of saving and the basics of money management skills.
Through our innovative, fun, and positive education techniques; we're confident that we have made an impactful long-term difference in these kids at the JRC Learning Center (aka the Little Google :) ). We're excited to continue our relationship with them while we grow our outreach to reach more kids.
FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT can change everything! Financial literate individuals save, invest, spend, plan, and make donations. It's important for our well-being and young people to know the fundamentals of managing their money to ensure a brighter future for all.
